Drive-in cinemas are (soon) coming to Manila
Heading closer to home
Once an elusive concept, drive-in cinemas are now taking the post-pandemic landscape by storm. With people safe in their cars and social distancing at play, it’s become a way to experience a semblance of normalcy.
With PH’s first drive-in theatre already happening in Pampanga, the ‘Drive-In Manila‘ project is planning to be the country’s first independent pop-up cinema.
Compared to SM Pampanga’s set-up, Drive-In Manila’s ‘pop-up’ means that the cinemas will navigate to and around the Metro, with screenings happening everywhere from Laguna to Makati.
Per their first teaser video, we’re set to see local and international films on the big screen. They also promise a ‘worry-free‘ show, as health protocols such as contactless service, physical distancing, and online bookings will be followed.
There’s no official announcement just yet on the launch date though, as we might have to wait a while longer with MECQ on full swing.
