Pasig’s new COVID-19 laboratory wants name suggestions, except ‘Vico Lab’

Don’t try to get cheeky

Chalk up another win for Pasig City in the fight against COVID-19. Mayor Vico Sotto recently revealed that a new molecular diagnostic laboratory will soon open to ramp up the metro’s testing efforts.

Apart from being able to accommodate the standard antibody and polymerase chain reaction tests (PCR), the facility can also be used in analyzing other diseases such as dengue and HIV.

However, there’s a catch. For the laboratory to be fully operational, it will need a name for documentation with the Department of Health. Pasig is currently accepting suggestions, but for the love of god, don’t pitch ‘Vico Lab’, per the mayor’s request.

‘Pag may nag-suggest na Vico Lab, magmumulta ng 500’. You’ve been warned.

The soon-to-open lab isn’t the only good news to come out of Pasig. Better internet + personal learning devices could soon be accessible to students, all 20-year contractual government workers have been regularized, and boxes of Pepero have been spotted in relief packages among other things.

Let our response be: Sana all.
