Spongebob’s Patrick Star is getting his own spinoff series

More hilariously dumb shenanigans

Per Deadline, our beloved starfish from Bikini Bottom is getting his own spinoff show at Nickelodeon. Called ‘The Patrick Star Show‘, the series will reportedly see Patrick hosting his own late-night talk show. How exactly a bumbling, but lovable buffoon got a hosting gig in the first place is unclear.

The plot will mostly focus on Patrick and his family, with occasional appearances from the original Spongebob cast. Patrick will still be voiced by Bill Fagerbakke, who has played the character since the OG show began in 1999.

The spinoff will also supposedly consist of 13 episodes and will be handled by the creative team behind Spongebob Squarepants.

This isn’t the first project to come from the iconic kid’s show, as Kamp Koral, a CGI-animated prequel series that follows a 10-year-old Spongebob, is set to air sometime in 2021. Squidward will also supposedly get his own, musical-based feature courtesy of Netflix.

There’s no word yet on a release date for The Patrick Star Show, but here’s hoping we get more legendary moments like these.
