With her new single, mxmtoon is dishing out an important evergreen reminder to hopeless romantics: ‘Being single is totally okay’.

Called ‘ok on your own’, the song sees the 20-year-old collab with the iconic Carly Rae Jepsen to deliver truths about why there’s nothing wrong about feeling vulnerable or dedicating time for oneself.

‘Sometimes relationships aren’t meant to work’, shares Maia. ‘It’s a bitter reality that many of us come to terms with at one point or another, but we all have to realize our own self-worth before letting certain people into our lives’.

‘ok on your own” is a reminder that stepping away from a relationship isn’t a sign of weakness, but rather one of strength!’

As for the pleasure of working with Carly Rae, Maia says she was beyond excited to meld minds with ‘someone who stands for empowerment and knows the themes of love and loneliness all too well’.

Aside from the pinch of realness, mxmtoon is also set to launch her own daily podcast titled ‘365 days with mxmtoon‘ on Sept 14. In the show, fans will get to hear all of the most interesting, weird, and funny happenings in the life of the Brooklyn-based artist.
