President Duterte had one of his pvblic addresses again and by now, you should know that no speech is complete without him mentioning the word ‘drugs’.
True to form, Duterte acknowledge the problem once again on Monday night, saying that there are currently 167 million drug users in the Philippines. Basic math would tell us that the number doesn’t make sense, considering that the current pop is at an estimated 109M, per date from the United Nations (UN

Still, regardless of the exact figure, the fact remains that the number of drug users is still in the millions. This is concerning, as this implies that the costly and lengthy Drug War, which the UN accuses of claiming tens of thousands of lives, is seemingly for naught.
When asked for his opinion, Roque admits that the problem is far from addressed.
‘Ang ibig sabihin lang po d’yan e talagang mayroon pa rin talagang maiitim ang budhi na patuloy ang pagkita nila dito sa pag-supply ng bawal na gamot’, he says per ABS-CBN News, while adding that addressing the issue will continue to be a top priority.
