IKEA online is coming to PH
Heads up, home designers
IKEA goods will soon be headed to our ‘Add to Cart’ lists, as the Swedish furniture giant is set to roll out an official PH online store.
The news comes from the company’s South East Asia sales revenue report, where they shared that Mexico will also be getting their own online shop.
‘The company is bringing Swedish home furnishings and meatballs to millions more people in the coming year as it enters both Mexico and the Philippines, with web shops opening up months before the physical stores in both countries.’
ICYDK, the IKEA.ph site has been up since 2018, but it doesn’t feature actual store options and serves as a kind of briefer into the Swedish company.
The move to opt for an online store comes before the 2021 opening of Manila IKEA in Pasig. The country’s very first IKEA store is set to be the biggest IKEA store in the world, rounding up to at least 300,000 square feet – or five football fields.
The launch date for the IKEA PH has yet to be announced, though with the lockdowns continuing well into the holidays, this could likely be part of our Christmas wish lists.
