‘123456’ is still the most common password of 2020

Password manager service Nordpass has found that – despite years of being an internet no-no – ‘123456‘ is still the most used password of 2020.
The site coordinated with third party providers and scanned a database of 275,699,516 passwords to come up with the list. The top three were found to be ‘123456‘, ‘123456789‘, and’ picture1‘.
Don’t worry, the elusive password ‘password‘ still takes the Top 4 spot.
NordPass’ data also shows just how long it takes to crack popular passwords, with most of the 200-item list taking just mere seconds for hackers and anyone with a keyboard.
It’s also been found that ‘12345‘ has been deciphered a whopping 23,597,311 times, so best to inform your parents (or boomer friends) to stay away from the basic keywords.
