‘Grey’s Anatomy’ S17 trailer deals with the early days of COVID-19
Everyone’s fave tearjerking hospital drama, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ is back for its 17th season, and it deals with the effects of COVID-19 on frontliners.
ICYDK, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ follows Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) on her journey from budding intern to Chief Surgeon at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, losing loved ones and crying a whole lot with viewers throughout the ordeal.
For the show’s 17th year, the show incorporates COVID-19, with the 1-minute trailer showing Meredith and the team donning PPEs and facemasks during the early days of the pandemic.
‘Sometimes, we all need saving,’ Meredith narrates in her classic introspective way.
The decision to reformat the season started in July, with producer Krista Vernoff sharing that they had IRL frontliners come in to tell the tale.
‘Every year, we have doctors come and tell us their stories, and usually, they’re telling their funniest or craziest stories. This year, it has felt more like therapy,’ she explained.
‘The doctors come in and we’re the first people they’re talking to about these types of experiences they’re having. They are literally shaking and trying not to cry, they’re pale, and they’re talking about it as war – a war that they were not trained for.’
Hope they give them justice
