PSA: You can now get paid to watch anime in PH
If you’re the type who can recall scenes from One Piece’s 900+ episode arch by heart, then this job opening might just be the one for you. Ani Radio Plus, which describes itself as a platform for Japanese pop culture, is looking for Anime Episode Reviewers.
The benefits look alright: Free unlimited access to streaming sites such as Netflix and Crunchyroll, cash incentives per episode reviewed, and the chance to a part of Ani Radio Plus events.
Based on their post, the position is open to everyone above 16 years old, as long as they a) reside in the Philippines and b) have decent English skills, both verbal and in writing, and c) a non-biased, ‘overflowing’ passion for anything anime-related.
The post also has a doozy of a list of shows to review, including Attack on Titan, Cardcaptor Sakura, Pokemon, Naruto Shippuden, and our personal fave, Zoids. Hirees can also opt to work from home, with occasional in-person meetings.
However, as attractive as it sounds, Ani Radio Plus notes that the position is not a substitute for a regular job, so don’t think of quitting yours just yet. This is more of a freelancing gig. Still, with everyone stuck indoors and binging shows anyways, we might as well get paid for doing so.
