Quarantine violators in Iloilo are cleaning the streets as punishment
Better than becoming PNP Chief
16 quarantine violators in Iloilo City have been tasked to do community service for failing to wear masks in pvblic spaces.
The Iloilo City Facebook page shared the news along with photos of the violators cleaning, planting greenery, and sweeping up the streets in aiding the ‘Iloilo City Government Beautification Program.’
‘Hopefully everyone will learn their lesson that this is being imposed for everyone’s safety and in the end, they will also learn to appreciate a clean and beautiful place and community to live in,’ a netizen named Julie Corcino Baylon apparently said about the decision.
‘It’s a win-win situation,’ said one Jerome Angelo Sorenio.
The project has been going on as early as the first week of November.
Aside from cleaning the streets, the quarantine violators will also be helping out in the plan to make the city greener through projects like seed planting and bamboo replanting. They will be given a certificate of completion after doing the time.
Meanwhile, in totally unrelated news, former NCRPO Chief and Mañanita bday boy Debold Sinas was promoted as PNP Chief earlier this week. He affirms that the PNP should ‘walk the talk’ for proper crime enforcement.
Oh, the scales of justice
