Netflix is dropping a Tomb Raider anime
Tomb Raider is one of those classic video games that every generation deserves to enjoy, so it was definitely a big win when the series was revived with a reboot in 2013. Fast forward three epic games later, the love for Lara Croft shows no signs of stopping, as Netflix is dropping an anime series centered around the iconic heroine.
Per a press release, the story will take place after the reboot trilogy, following Lara on her ‘latest, greatest adventure’. A 2018 film starring Alicia Vikander was the most recent attempt to bring the title outside of the gaming medium.
The show will be written and produced by Tasha Huo, who’s also working on ‘The Witcher: Blood Origin’, a live-action prequel to ‘The Witcher’ series.

Aside from the Tomb Raider content, Netflix is also releasing a ‘Skull Island’ anime, set in the same universe as Legendary’s Monsterverse films (aka those Godzilla/Kong movies). The show will feature a set of characters who get shipwrecked on the prehistoric island, home to many titans, including Kong himself.
