Amy Perez continues the tradition of being allergic to BS
A few weeks after Pinky Webb flipped her hair and showed us how to handle temper tantrums, Amy Perez, also known as Tyang Amy, continued the tradition of handling BS answers like a pro.
Land Transporation Office (LTO) Director Clarence Guinto was a guest on DZMM Teleradyo to discuss the specifics of the new Child Safety in Motor Vehicles Act, also known as the Child Car Seat Law, which would require passengers under 12 years old to be secured via a booster seat.
When asked by Perez on how the law would adapt to children who are tall for their age, Guinto replied ‘Laki-lakihan mo sasakyan mo’ (Just get a bigger car).
The response, as expected, went viral on social for its apparent lack of empathy. Perez wasn’t on board either, immediately pointing out that the general public does not enjoy such luxury.
Tyang Amy: Kung ang 12 years old sobrang tangkad at siya po ay lalagyan ng booster…aangat at tatama ang ulo sa kotse. Hindi po ba mas delikado ‘yun?

Sensing that the pvblic has reached its limit of government officials making nonsensical quips, Guinto released an apology for ‘the confusion I have caused with my remark’. He added that under the law, children with a height above 4’11 are exempted from using booster seats and may instead be secured with the regular seatbelts.
