BLACKPINK, international queens, were amazed over a banig
After performing concerts worldwide and landing a spot as ambassadors for international brands, you wouldn’t think that BLACKPINK would be amazed over a mundane thing: the country’s local banig.
Over the weekend, BLACKPINK had a virtual show for their Filipino fans or “blinks”. In one of the segments, the host presented a balikbayan box composed of different items such as a ukelele, jackstone set, abaniko, jeepney figurine, sungka set, and a banig.
During the online event, the members were amazed at how large the banig was as they struggled to unfold it. Rosé exclaimed that she wanted to have it, but then Jisoo suggested for them to split the items, ‘This is like a travel package. You put this on the floor, you fan with that, and you play the Ukelele!’
After the show, Filipino Blinks made memes out of the balikbayan unboxing portion and took it to Twitter. Some tweets pointed out that BLACKPINK members are ambassadors of luxury brands but are arguing over a banig. Others featured a “Magic Banig”, and Jennie looking ‘sexy’ while holding an abaniko.
The quartet doesn’t have to argue over a banig, or any item for that matter, since the host revealed that each one of them will actually receive all the items.
