Delivery rider graduates college, thanks people who gave tips
It’s graduation season! A lot of stories from Filipino graduates have circulated on the internet like a student who graduated by selling chicharon and mani. Another recent post that went viral is from a Lalamove delivery rider who shared his humble journey on earning his diploma in Criminology.
Oliver Calope posted a photo of himself on LALAMOVE Cavite Community‘s group. He can be seen clad in a graduation toga while holding a Lalamove jacket and delivery backpack.
Calope’s photo was paired with a caption that shows his appreciation to the delivery company with a witty opening in Filipino, ‘Salamat LALA dahil sayo [naka] MOVE ako para makagraduate (Thank you Lalamove, I graduated because of you).’
Calope continued by sharing that he found it challenging to endure the heat and brave through rainy days. However, he still encouraged other people in the group not to give up. He even shared his plans on saving up again in order to take his board exams.
All the people who gave Calope tips were also acknowledged, ‘Salamat sa mga taong nagbigay ng tip sa kada biyahe at nagbigay inspirasyon sakin para magpatuloy kaya LALAMOVE booking pa more. (Thank you to everyone who gave me a tip during my deliveries, and to those who inspired me to keep on going.)’
