Lorde blessed her fans with a sunny MV for ‘Solar Power’

Lorde is really out here dropping unexpected news at the beginning of the week and ends it with a banger. In case you missed it, she teased her single ‘Solar Power’ on Tuesday, which got fans excited. A few hours ago, she finally released it along with a music video.

Solar Power‘s opening lyrics, ‘I hate the winter, can’t stand the cold’, blends perfectly with the start of the music video. It presents Lorde seemingly having a cool summer afternoon on the beach with her friends. The dreamy cottagecore visuals match the long-overdue summer anthem that stans have been waiting for.

‘I made something that encapsulates where I’m from — my family, my girlfriends, my outdoors, my constant ruminations, and my unending search for the divine,’ Lorde wrote in a newsletter according to Rolling Stone.

It was also revealed that Lorde directed her latest music video along with Joel Kefali. He’s the same director who the pop star worked with for her 2013 OG track Royals.

Mimicking the online commotion earlier this week, Lorde sits at the top of the country’s trending topics once again on Twitter as of writing. Her fans came up with creative memes to express their *feels* on the newly released track.
