This clip reimagines Glaiza De Castro as Alexandra Trese

While Trese and its debut on Netflix is an undeniable landmark for Filipino animation, the reception of the series has been divisive, particularly to the voice acting.

There is no shortage of opinions on which among the Filipino, English, or Japanese dubs is the best. Liza Soberano and her turn as Alexandra Trese has had a mixed reception as well, even prompting popular voice talent Inka Magnaye to come to her defense.

One notable criticism is the reimagining of actor Glaiza De Castro as the title character. Glaiza has had a handful of roles in the past which required a sense of ferocity and authority; two key things that critics felt were lacking in the original take.

Such is the clamor that there is now a snippet of the Netflix trailer that features Glaiza in the role. It isn’t clear how this was achieved, but our guess is that these are spliced audio clips from the actor’s previous shows.

As of writing, the video has over 4,000 likes and 3,000 shares.
