Manila Bay dolomite beach reopens for a 3-day public viewing
Almost a year after it was first launched, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) reopens the Manila Bay dolomite beach on Sunday. It will be available for the public to visit only until July 20, Tuesday.
During the three days of its public viewing, the dolomite-sand beach is accessible from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. as it resumes in the afternoon from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m, as per ABS-CBN News. Visitors may enter for only five minutes per batch composed of 120 people.
People can be seen lining up to enter the vicinity in a video posted by the Daily Tribune. Some went inside with a group, by pair, or just individually strolling around.

Among those who are allowed to enter are senior citizens and minors, provided that they have adult companions along with them. However, pets will not be permitted. Eating, drinking, littering, swimming, and bringing home dolomite sand are also prohibited once people set food in the area.
Marshalls are assigned in their respective areas to make sure that visitors follow proper health and safety protocols like practicing social distancing, using face masks, and wearing face shields.
Following the 3-day reopening, DENR will evaluate if the beach will regularly be open to the public again. In May, the department received an extra budget of P265 million on top of the initial P389 million for the second phase of the dolomite sand project.
