This student got a scannable COVID-19 pass as a tattoo
They say that you should think things through before getting a tattoo since it will be on your skin forever. While it ranges from different designs and many sizes to choose from, Italian student Andrea Colonnetta decided to get his COVID certificate inked on his arm.
The 22-year-old now has a QR code of his official green pass on the underside of his left arm. The EU digital Covid pass was required in Italy beginning August 6. It served as a way to be permitted into indoor sports locations, museums, cinemas, and to eat indoors at restaurants.
When scanned, the black squares that are tainted on Colonnetta’s arm serve as proof of his COVID-19 status. It indicates that he is vaccinated, had negative test results in the last 48 hours, or recovered from the virus. Colonnetta explained that he didn’t really ponder on the recent symbol that he got, but decided on a practical option after talking to a tattoo artist. He shared, ‘It’s certainly something original, I like to be different.’
Colonenetta was fully vaccinated, and he even posted a video on his TikTok and Instagram account showing that his barcode tattoo works. As he walked inside McDonald’s, a security guard scanned the QR code inked on his arm. The clip also showed him successfully securing a burger from the fast food chain.
