ABBA is releasing a new album after 40 years

Forty years is quite a long time, but not for those who have been anticipating pop group ABBA to have a comeback. The Swedish act recently announced the release of their new album called Voyage. The ensemble is responsible for catchy throwback bops like Dancing Queen, Gimme! (A Man After Midnight), Mamma Mia, and many more

ABBA also shared that they will be having a concert in a custom-built arena at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London. The audience will see digital characters of the quartet along with a 10-piece live band. While the show will be held next year, tickets will already be on sale starting September 7.

The members expressed their sentiments on working together four decades after their 1981 record The Visitors. Agnetha had no idea what to expect when they were in the studio but ended up enjoying the process, ‘Benny’s recording studio is such a friendly and safe environment, and before I knew it I was actually enjoying myself!’

‘They’re such amazing singers those two, I was completely floored by the way they delivered those songs,’ Björn said. ‘The ‘Voyage’ project has injected new life into us more ways than one.’

‘It’s hard to say what’s been the most joyful thing for me with this project,’ Benny shared. ‘If it’s the involvement in creating the concert together with everyone or being back in the studio together again after 40 years.’

‘Such joy it was to work with the group again,’ said Anni-Frid. ‘I am so happy with what we have made, and I dearly hope our fans feel the same.’

Voyage is a 10-track album that is set to release on November 5. It will include their singles, I Still Have Faith in You and Don’t Shut Me Down. While waiting for the group’s record to drop, check out their social media pages (they’re also on TikTok) and official website for more updates.
