Angel Locsin spreads body positivity on her recent Instagram post
Since Angel Locsin is in the public eye, you’ll see reports on her latest projects, initiatives she carried out, and even her physique. While gaining weight is completely normal, some people online had to rub it in her face. But on Tuesday night, she surprised the internet when she posted mirror selfies paired with a caption that speaks of body positivity.
On Locsin’s Instagram post, she is seen wearing workout clothes while showing off her slimmer figure. Apart from sharing her healthy progress, she captioned the post with, ‘Remember to love every inch of you.’
The actress’ fellow celebrity friends such as Angelica Panganiban, Dimples Romana, Karen Davila, and many more showed their support for her fitness journey. Her husband Neil Arce also slid in the comments with a cheeky message, ‘On my way.’
Getting back in shape wasn’t easy for Locsin since she had a spine injury in 2015 which prohibited her to do physical activities. But earlier in June, Locsin shared bits of her progress and said on the platform that she was on an 800-calorie diet that was recommended by a nutritionist.

Aside from random people commenting on her body in the past years, the 36-year-old was also described as an “obese person” in a physical education module last year. The Department of Education (DepEd) then apologized for the questionable worksheet.
In July 2021, she had an interview with Over A Glass Or Two where she addressed the issue of receiving body shaming comments. Locsin pointed out that she loves herself enough that those who criticize her cannot drag her down. She explained, ‘Totoo naman, mataba naman talaga ako. Pero hindi naman masusukat noon kung sino ako. Mabuti nang chubby kaysa ugly.’
‘Buti na lang mahal ko ang sarili ko at nirerespeto ko ang sarili ko, dahil ang katawan na ito ay maraming pinagdaanan,’ she added.
