Cinemalaya postpones its outdoor cinema screening
Bummer
Due to the ongoing pandemic and heightened restrictions, Cinemalaya has decided to hold its ‘Cinema Under The Stars’ (CUTS) until further notice. Called a hybrid screening, CUTS would’ve given moviegoers the option to either enjoy this year’s entries in the style of a drive-thru cinema or on the grounds of Liwasang Ulalim at the CCP Complex.
The screenings were supposed to take place from September 2 to 4.
‘This is an example of the changes we foresee (and are ready for) for live events and major public gatherings in the coming months, even years’, said CCP Artistic Director and Cinemalaya Festival Director Chris Millado.
‘You are part of this change and we hope that you will be with us as we move forward to the better normal. We thank our audience for their understanding, appreciation, and continued patronage.’
‘Please watch out for updates and announcements on CUTS. Until then, we urge the public to follow health protocols and stay safe in the confines of your homes’.

Those who still want to stream the 17th edition of the Cinemalaya Film Festival can do so via KTX.PH until September 5th. For a breakdown of the main films in competition (spoiler: they’re all good), you can check out our full review here.
