LEGO released a ‘Home Alone’ McCallister Residence set in time for Christmas

One of the many Christmas-themed films that you probably replay every year is Home Alone. Following Kevin McCallister is a roller coaster ride as you see him try to keep two con men from robbing his home. LEGO Ideas group released a set for you to relive the movie with its new collection, which recreates the McCallister family residence.

The 3,955-piece set has references from the movies such as the ground floor, first floor, attic, kitchen, and basement. There will also be different traps hidden inside the house, a Lego T.V. showing Angels with Filthy Souls, and a cutout of Michael Jordan. Other features include the robber’s van along with the treehouse and a zipline.

Apart from all the Easter eggs that are reminiscent of the film, the set comes with five mini-figures composed of Kevin, the Wet Bandits Harry and Marv, Kevin’s neighbor Marley, and Kevin’s mom Kate. It’s priced at $249.99 (approximately P12,662), which can be pre-ordered on November 1 at Lego’s website.

The Home Alone set was actually an idea submitted by a user to the Lego Ideas group. The toy company chose this concept while passing a 1% royalty fee to the designer. A blog post stated that Alex Storozhuk from Ukraine was the brains behind this collection.

Storozhuk explained that he grew up watching Home Alone just like every other 90s kid. He explained, ‘This movie is very nostalgic and makes those warm childhood memories to come up every time. Last Christmas, we were watching it and had out Winter Village on display, I clearly remember the moment I asked myself – “Why is there no LEGO Home Alone set?”. I thought that it would be a great collaboration and complementarity of brands and I just couldn’t let it go!’
