Adidas will release an Xbox 360 inspired sneaker

It’s not the first time for the gaming world and the fashion industry to collide. A few months ago, the Fortnite x Balenciaga collab made waves globally. But recently, Adidas and Microsoft partnered to release the first-ever Xbox 360-themed sneaker that’s available to purchase for the console’s 20th anniversary.

Xbox Senior Sales & Marketing Manager James Monosmith talked about the inspiration behind the footwear’s design in a news post. Called the Xbox 360 Forum Mid, he describes it as “a love letter to one of the most iconic consoles in gaming history.” The colorway mimics the OG Xbox 360 console’s hues – white, silver, and green.

‘On the strap, you’ll note the Xbox 360 disc tray, along with the classic 360-era Xbox button design on the shoe’s outer side and the console’s air vents on the inner side,’ he added. ‘Additionally, the heel features references to the Xbox 360’s distinctive removable hard drive and memory unit slots.’

Monosmith shared that the sneakers will come with four extra pairs of laces in red, green, blue, and yellow, to represent the face buttons of the Xbox controller. He also noted that the sneakers have many other details for fans to discover and enjoy. It will have a limited release that will be available to purchase in the U.S. and Canada on November 4 at 7:00 a.m. PT through the Adidas website.

Earlier in October, Xbox released its first sneaker design with colors that resemble the black and green aesthetic of the console, but it wasn’t available for purchase. To close its sneaker trilogy, it will unveil the third model, which is inspired by the Xbox Series X, on November 15 during the celebratory stream for its 20th anniversary of Xbox and Halo.
