Vice President Leni Robredo recently appeared in a video of content creator Mimiyuuuh titled Cooking Essential Lugaw with VP Leni Robredo. As the title suggests, the presidential aspirant demonstrated how to prepare chicken lugaw while the vlogger asked her several questions, including a few concerning relationships and receiving hate online.

Shortly after explaining the ingredients needed for the Filipino comfort food, Mimiyuuuh asked VP Robredo how to have a “jowa” amid the pandemic. She explained, ‘Ako, ang paniniwala ko kasi, dapat hindi mo siya sini-seek. Paniniwala ko nga, kapag sineek mo, ‘yun tuloy yung mga hindi naglalast. So, mas mabuti na take your time kasi yung para sayo ay dadating ‘yun.’

Later on, Mimiyuuuh proceeded to ask at what how VP Robredo handles all the negativity she gets on social media. She shared that she doesn’t pay attention to comments that aren’t true. But she realized that she has to respond and educate those who believe fake news about her, ‘Kasi yung tao naniniwala kung hindi mo siya nirerefute.’

‘Dati kasi yung feeling namin, “hindi naman totoo, wag natin pansinin, wag natin i-dignify.” Mali pala yun,’ she explained. ‘Hindi mo siya papatulan pero at least mag-bibigay ka ng opportunity na malaman kung ano talaga yung totoo. Kasi may mga kwentong ginagawa na hindi totoo. Ang dami-dami.’

VP Robredo revealed in a tweet that her feature in Mimiyuuuh’s video wasn’t paid and she was actually invited months ago. But it was pushed back since both of them needed to isolate individually after being exposed to people with COVID-19. The YouTube video has over 950,000 views as of this writing.

Following the lugaw and advice-filled vlog, Mimiyuuuh also posted a TikTok along with VP Robredo that has garnered almost seven million views. The two performed trendy TikTok skits as the song TWINNEM plays in the background. You’ll also see Mimi twerking in front of Robredo, who poses as a supportive friend taking a video.
