Marian Rivera, recording artist and actress, now a Miss U meme fave
All heads turn to Beatrice Luigi Gomez at the 70th Miss Universe pageant, but another Filipina has been getting attention as well. Marian Rivera is called a multi-hyphenate for many reasons – from being part of the selection committee during the pageant preliminaries to being introduced as a local “recording artist and award-winning film and television star.”
As part of the all-female panel of judges, Rivera is joined by Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela, Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima, Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere, entertainment host Adamari Lopez, entrepreneur-model Lori Harvey, and actress Rena Sofer.
The Filipina celebrity took to social media some snaps taken by her husband, Dingdong Dante, sharing moments that showed “girl power” during the preliminary night. In another post, she also shared photos with Rautela, whom she called her “seatmate and new found friend”. Rivera was also seen teaching Rautela the steps to her hit single Sabay Sabay Tayo.
The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) officially announced Rivera’s incusion as a judge last December 9. The organization’s website stated that she supports many advocacies like operations for children with cleft lips and palates. It also highlighted that she’s an ambassador to the Little People, and an advocate to children and women with disabilities.
MUO’s description also noted that the 37-year-old received the Breastfeeding Influencer and Advocate Award by the Mother and Child Nurses Association in 2016.
While Rivera has all those titles to her name, becoming this season’s favorite PH meme can also be part of her accomplishments. Many online users came up with the most hilarious photos related to her partaking as a judge. Scroll below to see a few.
