Bongbong Marcos is the (unofficial) president of 7-Eleven

7-Eleven has concluded its beverage-based survey a.k.a. the SpeakCUP campaign, which is an informal way to see who Filipinos would vote for during the upcoming elections. On April 24, the convenience store posted that presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. secured the most number of cups at 44%.

The 7-election PH‘s website also presented a detailed breakdown for April 27, which showed the final results with Bongbong’s rank remaining the same at the top spot at 43%. Other presidential bets like VP Leni Robredo followed at 24%, undecided voters were at 15%, Manila Mayor Iasko Moreno at 8%, while Sen. Manny Pacquiao and Sen. Ping Lacson both lagged at 5%.

According to Pulse Asia’s March poll, the only son of the late dictator was also the pre-election survey frontrunner. Despite his 4% drop from February, it showed that 56% of voters would still opt for Marcos Jr. as president.

7-Eleven’s initiative is stated to be “unscientific” and is done in the “spirit of fun”.  It was carried out starting March 9 and ended on April 27. Its description explained, ‘This survey is solely measured by the cups chosen by 7-Eleven Customers for the Gulp and City Café Products they purchased.’

The SpeakCUP results don’t claim to determine the new set of leaders that the country will have, and Filipinos are set to vote for their chosen candidates on May 9.
