VP Leni’s ‘Pink Museum’ prospect will house gifts of ‘kakampinks’
Have you ever wondered about Vice President Leni Robredo’s post-election activities? While her schedule is still packed, she went on Facebook live and showed the gifts from her supporters. The presidential candidate shared that she’s thinking of establishing a “pink museum”, which will put the thousands of presents to “good use”.
During the live video on May 12, Robredo also shared that she intends on auctioning off some items to raise funds for her Angat Buhay projects. As she went to over 80 locations all over the country during her campaign period, “kakampinks” have given her gifts which are mostly in the shade of pink.
Robredo went through all the letters that came with the items and made sure to greet the sender. She also said, ‘Parang expression talaga siya ng pakiramdam na sobrang daming tao na sumama sa’tin sa laban na ‘to.’
Robredo received a handful of clothes, bath essentials, artworks, custom Leni-Kiko cookies, a bundle of walis tambo, Funko Pop figures, accessories, skincare, and vinyl records among many others. She plans on donating duplicate items to government agencies and barangays who need assistance.
While nothing is set in stone yet, Robredo eyes the museum to be located in Naga City. The museum’s potential name also reflects the “pink movement”, which was born out of her candidacy. She said, ‘Lagi ko po ‘tong sinasabi, despite the seeming results, ito pa din ‘yung pinaka-happy na campaign I’ve ever been involved in at dahil ‘yan sa inyo.’
Robredo and her running mate Sen. Kiko Pangilinan will have a thanksgiving event with their supporters at the Ateneo de Manila University on Friday, May 13. She is also set to fly to the U.S. over the weekend to attend the graduation of her youngest daughter, Jillian, from New York University. Her other daughters, Tricia and Aika, will be there as well.
