Just how “Huli” is the Eraserheads’ “Huling El Bimbo” reunion concert?

Another decade has passed, which means an Eraserheads reunion is in order. The iconic Filipino rock band, who can apparently stand each other for only a day, will reunite on December 12, 2022, at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Paranaque City.

Titled “Huling El Bimbo”, the event poster was shared by the group’s four members: Buddy Zabala, Raymund Marasigan, Ely Buendia, and Marcus Adoro on their respective Instagrams.

Ticket details are expected to drop soon at eraserheads2022.ph based on the material.

The Eheads last reunited in 2009 with “The Final Set”, years after a much-publicized breakup in 2002. The split, along with the enduring popularity of their songs, would become the stuff of urban legends, which Buendia would later clarify in a podcast in 2021.

Given the band’s eternal influence and impact on the OPM scene, it’s safe to assume we haven’t seen the last of the Eraserheads. Not that we’re complaining; “Ligaya”, “Pare Ko”, and the rest are hits for a reason. In an era of reboots, remakes, and nostalgia-driven content, just how “Huli” is the “Huling El Bimbo” really?
