Fil-Am comedian Jokoy helps build a road for Bacolod public school
Celebrated Filipino-American comedian Jo Koy shares his blessings
Through his foundation, Joseph Glenn Herbert was able to help a school open a road and develop its campus.
After visiting the Philippines to promote his first feature film Easter Sunday, Jo Koy returned with his family last December 28 to spend the holidays.
Last January 6, he went on a short trip to Bacolod City in Negros Occidental to grace the inauguration of the road built near Alangilan National High School, a project made possible by the funds donated by the comedian’s foundation.
First reported by Inquirer, the 412-meter road was built using the PHP 1,593,000 donated by the Jo Koy Foundation. According to a statement made by an official of the school administration, only a total of PHP 1.2 million was used for the road project so the remaining funds were used to rehabilitate the school’s water service and for the building of a school guard house.
Reportedly, an additional PHP 1.2 million was donated by Jo Koy for the construction of a basketball court, canteen, and other facilities inside the campus.
Jo Koy together with his family who witnessed the inauguration spent 6 hours in the city and departed for Manila at 4 PM that day.
The comedian and actor rose to fame by sharing his experiences as a Filipino-American. He is most known for sharing anecdotes about his Filipino mother.
