Rihanna wants to release new music this 2023

Fans of Rihanna were overjoyed to see the singer perform again during the Super Bowl Halftime show, but their excitement was cut short after finding out she was pregnant again.

As some of her fans on Twitter said, they might not be getting a new album from the Barbados national hero because she was expecting. But that may not be the case.

In an interview with British Vogue, Rihanna said she wants to release her ninth album this 2023. Her last studio album, Anti, came out in 2016, and her latest music release was a track titled Lift Me Up for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in 2022.

“I want it to be this year. Like, honestly, it’d be ridiculous if it’s not this year,” she told Vogue. “But I just want to have fun. I just want to make music and make videos… And I need the right background music with the visuals. I can’t just go shoot a video to me talking.”

The Fenty mogul also opened up about the pressure of trying to follow up Anti, which she said was her “most brilliant album.” Her 2016 release featured chart-topping tracks like Work, Kiss It Better, Love on the Brain, and Desperado.

“There’s this pressure that I put on myself. That if it’s not better than that then it is not even worth it… It is toxic. You’re right. It’s not the right way to look at music because music is an outlet and a space to create, and you can create whatever,” she said, adding that she never stopped recording.

Rihanna, along with her partner A$AP Rocky and their son, graced the cover of British Vogue for March 2023. She talked about motherhood and having baby number two.

A date hasn’t been set yet for the new album, but fans will definitely be on the look out for it.
