Sick of Earth? NASA now lets you ‘book’ a ticket to Mars
We know we are
In case you’re already on your last straw with this planet (who isn’t?), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is now giving out ‘tickets‘ to Mars.
To hype people up for their Mars Rover 2021 landing, the bureau is letting people book a flight to send their names to a future spacecraft headed to Mars.
‘Your name will fly on a future NASA mission to Mars in the mid-2020’s. The spacecraft hasn’t been identified but we are taking names now that will eventually be placed on a spacecraft headed to Mars,’ reads the project’s FAQ.
The bureau has had similar projects for fellow Mars missions Mars Science Lab, MAVEN, Mars Exploration Rovers, Orion, and InSight.
‘As we get ready to launch this historic Mars mission, we want everyone to share in this journey of exploration,’ shared NASA associate administrator Thomas Zurbuchen
‘It’s an exciting time for NASA, as we embark on this voyage to answer profound questions about our neighboring planet, and even the origins of life itself.’
The chance to send your name to Mars comes with a digital boarding pass and ‘frequent flyer’ points, as over 1,0932,295 people have already booked their flight.
While it may take decades for humans to reach Mars ourselves, at least a part of us will be traveling outer space in the meantime.
As the meme goes
