Chadwick Boseman’s memorial post is Twitter’s most liked Tweet ever

‘Fit for a king’

After the unexpected death of actor Chadwick Boseman rocked his fans and took the world at a standstill, Twitter has confirmed that his memorial post is now the most-liked Tweet of all time.

The posthumous tweet features a B&W portrait of Chadwick along with a statement confirming he had passed away at 43 after a 4-year fight with colon cancer.

‘Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV.’

‘A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much.’

‘It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.’

Chadwick had filmed over 7 films throughout his battle with cancer – including the iconic ‘Black Panther‘, the two recent ‘Avengers’ films, ‘21 Bridges‘, ‘Da 5 Bloods’, and the yet to be released movie ‘Black Bottom‘. Talk about a warrior.

Twitter itself clocked in the milestone as the memorial post beat out the former 4.3M likes titleholder by former US President Barack Obama.

‘A tribute fit for a king.’

As of writing, Chadwick’s Tweet now has 2M retweets, 931.2K quote tweets, and 7.5M likes.

Long live the King
