Japan’s ‘no scream’ theme parks offer hilarious mouth masks for guests

Yeah, that’ll do the trick

Remember when we collectively raised an eyebrow when Japan prohibited people from screaming in theme parks? Well, it seems that they’ve found the perfect solution… kind of.

Following suit to parks such as Tokyo Disneyland’s ‘no scream‘ policy against Coronavirus, Greenland Amusement Park in Japan’s Kumamoto Prefecture is offering visitors a mask ‘screaming sticker‘ – because it’s basically the same, right?

If you think the mere idea’s weird as hell, Greenland Park has also taken the liberty to upload a video on how guests will look like while on a rollercoaster. Just in case you’re curious.

Fair warning: it’s intense.

The less than 2-minute video showcases the mask-wearer actually remaining silent throughout the twisty ride, with only their bulging eyes and perpetually-agape mouth showing signs of surprise.

So, we guess it does work? A picture tells a thousand words, and we still have so many questions.

Meanwhile, Japan’s ‘no scream‘ policy is just one of the country’s ways to open up theme parks while ensuring people are safe.

Pretty normal policies include temperature checks, contactless payment schemes, and proper sanitation for workers.
