John Wick and his pencil will return for a 5th movie

How do you know if your movie franchise is successful or not? It’s when you get the green light for a sequel to a sequel that hasn’t even dropped yet. Such is the case with Keanu Reeves’ John Wick series, which recently confirmed its fifth installment, per Deadline.

John Wick 5 will apparently be filmed back-to-back with the fourth one, slated for a US release on May 27, 2022. There’s not much info beyond that, but Lionsgate CEO John Feltheimer hopes production could begin as soon as Keanu becomes available in 2021.

The 55-year-old actor will also make his return as Neo in Matrix 4, with the film previously having the same release date as with its John Wick counterpart before being delayed for a year due to the pandemic.

In any case, expect to see a lot more of the beloved Keanu in the future, which might indicate better times than the flustercluck that is 2020.
