The Haunting of Hill House’s ‘much scarier’ sequel drops first-look teasers

Netflix’s highly-anticipated sequel to the 2018 horror series ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ just dropped its official poster and teaser stills on Vanity Fair – and we’re already looking for the hidden ghosts.

Titled ‘The Haunting of Bly Manor’, the new series still sees the same cast along with showrunner Mike Flanagan, (Doctor Sleep, Gerald’s Game), but this time portraying different roles in adapting the 1898 novella ‘Turn of the Screw’,

Often credited as one of the most influential horror novels of all time, the short story by Henry James revolves around an anonymous narrator telling the story of a governess taking care of two eerie children at the Bly Manor mansion.

Meanwhile, the official poster leaves much to the imagination as we see a faceless figure in the water looking back on us with the facade of the apparently haunted mansion in the distance.

In case you’re doubting the creeps the second time around, showrunner Mike Flanagan revealed that the new season will be ‘much scarier than the first one, with the novella serving as a ‘jumping-off point‘ for S2.

‘By the end, it’s really hard to differentiate tragedy with romance. That sense of romantic longing for someone who meant so much to us—but who’s gone—really is the heart of any ghost story.’
