These watercolor fans will help street kids pursue online classes

While the Department of Education has chosen to delay the opening of classes to October, the message is clear: school is back in session, pandemic or not. And while many of us live and breathe online, there are those that are ill-prepared for distance learning.

Fortunately, the folks at the non-profit organization The Youth Initiative Philippines (TYI PH), composed of college and medical students from various universities, are here to help.

TYI PH is hosting an online auction of Chinese watercolor paintings by former University of the Philippines professor Arnulfo Esguerra. Proceeds from the auction will be used to purchase tablets and other educational materials for street children enrolled in Child Hope Philippines and UP Ugnayan ng Pahinungod.

The artwork’s themes range from the focus on the natural world and landscape to Filipino sceneries. This is the latest collab between TYI PH and Esguerra, who previously launched a similar effort called ‘Celebration of Life‘ for the benefit of frontliners.

 

 

Aside from these gorgeous fans, the auction also features 17 portrait paintings, all of which you can check out and bid for via TYI PH’s Facebook page. Be a bit quick if you’re interested though, as the bidding will end on August 26, 2020.
