After Gundam, Japan is now building a life-sized Godzilla
Is this an upcoming kaiju battle or…?
It was only a few days ago when we dropped the news about a sneak peek at an actual moving, life-sized Gundam. Now, Japan is moving into its next gigantic project: recreating Godzilla in its 65 feet tall, 180 feet long glory.
等身大のゴジラが現れるという、前代未聞のプロジェクトを発表させていただきました!

Similar to the RX-78 Gundam, this Godzilla is being built at a theme park at the Awaji Island at the Hyogo Prefecture. It was also supposed to debut this year, but construction was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The project has since resumed operations, and once finished, will feature several games, including a part where visitors can zipline into Godzilla’s mouth. There will also be ‘missions’ which will see the iconic kaiju either captured or defeated.
There’s no word yet on when the Godzilla will be open for tourists, but with Japan officially opening its doors to all countries starting October, here’s hoping it’ll be soon.
