‘FarmVille’ officially says goodbye after 11 years
Farewell to the OG
Before the clamor for ‘Among Us‘ and every other mobile game, there was FarmVille. After pretty much taking over everyone’s Facebook experience back in 2009, the Zynga game is now bidding farewell to its farmers.
Though it hasn’t been active on our timelines lately, the farming game has actually been steadily continuing. The page took to its Facebook page to announce its departure from the platform.
‘Thank you is a small word but when fertilized with love and beautiful memories it means the world to us. So here’s a great BIG THANK YOU for farming with us through it all.’

ICYDK, ‘FarmVille‘ is a simulation game that literally asks players to reap what they sow. The game features different types of farmland activities such as taking care of animals, harvesting crops, and planting trees.
In the sea of games nowadays, it really isn’t the most exciting – but damn was it addicting. As a testament to its popularity, the game peaked around the early 2010s where it reached as many as 83.76 million users per month.
Despite leaving the platform where it once thrived, ‘FarmVille‘ will move on to develop new mobile games such as ‘Farmville 2: Tropic Escape‘ and ‘FarmVille 3‘.
If you still want to take one last look at your (dead) crops, the game will still continue until December 31, while in-game purchases will discontinue as early as November 17.
That’s a lot of farming
