‘Tangina 2020’ trends after Lloyd Cadena’s passing

In case you haven’t heard, Lloyd Cafe Cadena has passed away. The news was confirmed by the Internet star’s official Facebook page.

‘It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the untimely demise of our beloved brother Lloyd Cafe Cadena’, the post read.

May he be remembered for all the joy and laughter he shared with everyone. My family and I ask for your prayers, respect, and privacy during this time’.

Cadena was one of YouTube’s earliest and most popular Filipino personalities, with over 5.3 million subscribers on the platform. One of the recent recurring themes on Cadena’s channel was the reveal of a newly-purchased home, which serves as a retirement gift for his mother.

Cadena’s passing wasn’t the only notable loss in recent weeks, as YouTuber Emman Nimedez, another pioneer, died after a battle with cancer in mid-August.

The shocking news triggered an outpouring of grief and mourning from social media, with the keyword ‘Tangina 2020’ soon becoming a trending topic on Twitter.
