These musicians-turned-riders offer ‘harana’ services on their deliveries

With gigs canceled and bars closing down due to the ongoing pandemic, the year has been a tough one for the livelihoods of those in the music scene. One of them is Stanley Seludo, drummer for local band BRWN, who lost his entire source of income in one fell swoop.

‘As a musician myself, I felt the struggle of our community’, shared Seludo, who started exploring other options soon after he lost his regular spots.

‘I wanted to help by providing an opportunity to my fellow musicians to earn some during this pandemic – something sustainable that they can still do after COVID-19 is long gone.

This pressing need is what led to the formation of Good Banda, a group composed of displaced musicians that provide delivery-courier services around the metro, with the added option of including a surprise harana for the intended recipient.

Surprise Harana for Ms. Pokwang.❤Sana'y napasaya ka namin sa iyong kaarawan.Salamat maam din @jm_jinkyabalos01 for trusting us para mag deliver at mag bigay saya kay maam Pokwang. ❤Sana na enjoy nyo rin yung pizza and buttered chicken from @kambimanila and ice cream from @frozenafph.Follow us on IG: @goodbandaph#MusicianRiders #Harana#goodbandaph#MerchantBandmates

It’s a cool twist that separates Good Banda in an industry that has boomed since the start of the lockdowns. Currently, requests for deliveries are made a day in advance through the group’s Facebook page, with an official app expected to drop sometime in the near future.

With its rider pool expanding from 10 members to 60 in just 3 months, Stanley is confident that Good Banda will soon find its way to more doorsteps. And duringa these times when good vibes are sorely needed, we for one, can’t wait when they eventually do.
