TIL: The voices behind those PAL and MTRCB advisories are related

In the latest episode of Today I Learned, we found further proof that talent does run in the family.

Philippine Airlines’ inflight voice Inka Magnaye, who rose to fame after revealing that her mom held the same job back in the day, is apparently related to another iconic voice actor.  Turns out, her aunt is the one behind the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) spiel you hear before every program.

‘When I say I come from a family of voice-overs, I’m not exaggerating’, she says in a video featuring her dad’s sister, who then demos the familiar ‘Ang programing ito ay rated SPG…’

Aside from her stint with PAL, Inka is also a popular Tiktok personality and the host of ‘The Sleeping Pill’, which is ‘a meditative and ASMR podcast’ that aims to ease your anxieties and cure your insomnia. With a soothing voice like hers, we’d probably also be tucking our sleep-deprived demons to bed.
