<b> COMELEC to launch online applications for voter’s certificate </b>
Pls pls pls
The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is planning to roll out online applications for Filipinos to receive their voter’s certification.
Even if a certification isn’t necessary to vote once you’re registered, it’s still useful if you need a temporary Voter’s ID, didn’t receive one upon registering, or if you just need a certified copy of your voting record.
Before the pandemic, a certification request would have been handled through local Offices of the Election Officer (OEO).
This time, COMELEC plans to disseminate an official link that will take people to an online application form they’d normally need to print out.
After that, those who filled out the form will receive an email from COMELEC’S National Central File Division (NCFD) for other personal information requirements on the verification of voter records, along with the schedule of its release.
They will then need to screenshot or print a photo of the email to simply claim and pay for their certificates at the NCFD in Intramuros or in their respective OEO.
COMELEC will only roll out the pilot testing in areas under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) and modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).
‘The aforesaid offices shall conduct the initial stage of the online reception of applications for the issuance of voters’ certification from the effectivity of this resolution until December 31, 2020,’ COMELEC’s resolution reads.
‘The pilot testing shall only be implemented in areas where general community quarantine (GCO), modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), and no quarantine classification exist.’
As with most pvblic spaces, the offices are also implementing a ‘No Face Mask/Shield, No Transaction Policy’.
