#MuseoDeFilipino is the eye-opening TikTok trend PH needs
A trend we can get behind
A PH-originated TikTok trend has been making its way to people’s timelines – and it’s definitive proof that the kids are gonna be alright.
The short videos titled ‘Museo De Filipino’ see young PH content creators portraying historical figures and familiar names with IV of Spades’ ‘Bata, Dahan-Dahan!‘ playing in the background.
Serving as more than mere intros to the characters, the trend gets into the nitty-gritty of their backgrounds, such as Jose Rizal’s Maria Clara being a lifelong victim of harassment, and Sisa explaining how she was gaslit into going ‘crazy‘.

Aside from featuring historical fictional characters, ‘Museo De Filipino’ also bravely tackles a multitude of current national issues – from EJK, farmers’ plight, to the most recent militant handling of baby River’s funeral.
‘We created the trend Museo de Filipino not only for the generation today but also for the upcoming generation to be inspired and to remember the people that served our country,’ a rep from POVmakers, the original creators of the trend, shared with preen.ph.

All-out support has since been pouring out for ‘Museo De Filipino’s content creators, as it’s currently serving as one of the means the generation can reach to spread the word while we’re all still in quarantine.
