Netflix’s Greek Mythology anime drops its first trailer

It was back in March 2019 when we dropped the news about Netflix greenlighting a new anime series centered around Greek Mythology. Now, the project has dropped its first official trailer, under its new official name ‘Blood of Zeus’.

According to its description, the 8-episode series follows Heron, a commoner who discovers he is a son of Zeus, and now has to lead humanity in a battle against a demon army. Meanwhile, the gods of Olympus are engaged in a war against the Titans, while Zeus’ wife, Hera, plots to betray her husband.

It sounds like your average dysfunctional Greek myth family alright.

If the animation and gore seem a bit familiar, the crew helming the series, Powerhouse Animation Studios, is the same one behind Castlevania, the acclaimed Netflix adaptation of the beloved video game franchise.

If Blood of Zeus remains more of the same, expect lots of action, shocking violence, and one heck of a story when it drops on the streaming platform this October 27.
