PNP ‘contemplating’ on zero Christmas parties this year
PNP promises no Christmas mañanitas this year
Well, there’s that
The Philippine National Police (PNP) is still deciding whether or not they will hold a Christmas party this year – and instead give back during the holidays.
‘First of all, I am contemplating no Christmas party for the PNP. They will understand that. Instead of giving the funds for Christmas party, we will give it out for COVID patients or maybe for the COVID fund,’ shared PNP chief Gen. Camilo Cascolan.
Cascolan furthered that the PNP could instead distribute goods via their Food Bank and deploy more troops to combat the crime upsurge during the holidays.
‘If ever in December we are still in GCQ or MGCQ, at least we have the Food Bank. We will go around, we will able to distribute food. That is coming from PNP and sponsors.’
Cascolan’s statement comes in the light of a number of social distancing allegations against the PNP, including NCRPO Debold Sinas’ infamous May mañanita bash, and former PNP head Archie Gamboa getting hit with ‘partying‘ allegations in Baguio City.
Christmas parties have also been straight-up banned in Metro Manila, so it wouldn’t be in the PNP’s nature to break the government-mandated rules.
