This Netflix film explores seeking happiness under fake online personas
Banking on the high of its first-ever Filipino animated film, Netflix has teased its next PH Original Film ‘Alter Me’, which stars Enchong Dee and Jasmine Curtis-Smith.
Per the release, the film is centered around an HR manager who seeks the mentorship of a coveted escort to better connect with other people and her emotions. However, this arrangement soon opens our protagonist’s heart to unexpected feelings.
According to director RC Delos Reyes, he wanted to explore social media’s reliance on fake personas to achieve the kind of happiness that they desire.
‘Nowadays, in the advent of technology and social media, we put on different masks and we create our own worlds’, said Delos Reyes.
‘Hoping, that in that world we would be able to find the love and fulfillment we have always been seeking. Not realizing that the true change or ‘altering’ we have to do is always dependent on who we are and how honest we are to ourselves’.
‘Alter Me’ drops in the Philippines and across Asia on November 15.
