Budol for bookworms: MIBF Online is now open

It’s that time of the year

ICYMI, the 41st Manila International Book Fair (MIBF) is now officially open today until November 30.

A far cry from their expo held annually at the SMX Convention Center, this year’s MIBF is fully digital via manilabookfair.com. Over 60 publishers and retailers are joining in on the fun, with over a thousand books and novels set at a discounted price.

The process is simple enough. Like any e-commerce site, you first need to register an account to avail of discount vouchers. You can then skip the long lines as you checkout to your heart’s content.

Prepare to pay a little more though, as shipping will be shouldered by the buyer.

The online marketplace also features a huge selection of works, with genres ranging from Arts & Photography, LGBTQ+, Fiction, to Travel.

Exhibitors will also be launching virtual panel sessions and seminars via the MIBF official Facebook page, YouTube channel, and Zoom.

PH authors E. San Juan, Jr. and Marie Rose B held a talk earlier today, with international author Christine Brae (The Year I Left, Eight Goodbyes) also addressing her fans. Check out the full events list here.

As for our picks, some standouts include the classic ‘Mythology: Timeless Tales of Gods and Heroes’ and a peculiar Tagalog version of The Little Prince, aptly titled ‘Ang Munting Prinsipe’. Our#PinoyPride is swelling.
