Isabelle Fuhrman returning as Esther in the ‘Orphan’ prequel
Esther is back as herself
Per Variety, Isabelle Fuhrman is set to reprise her iconic role as Esther in the upcoming ‘Orphan‘ prequel officially titled ‘Orphan: First Kill’.
The now 23-year old actress was only 10 when she first portrayed Esther AKA Leena Klammer in the 2009 film.
The upcoming prequel will see the origins of the famed ‘child‘ murderer as she travels to America in hopes to escape from the Estonian psychiatric facility mentioned in the first film. The film will also feature actress Julia Stiles (10 Things I Hate About You, Jason Bourne) as Esther’s first adoptive mother.
Meanwhile, the original film achieved cult status 11 years ago after earning over $80M worldwide on a $20M budget for its fresh take on horror long before the special effects brought by modern horror flicks such as ‘The Conjuring’ and ‘Insidious‘.
With Isabelle now looking like a full-fledged adult, we’re left to wonder how they’ll pull off her being a younger Esther given the film is meant to be a blast from the past.
SFX or just makeup?
