Mario Kart is apparently the ‘most stressful’ video game, study finds

Mario > Horror

Gaming gambler site Bonus Finder has found that out of all the popular games in the market right now, Nintendo’s ‘Mario Kart’ is apparently the most stressful game. Yeah, you read that right.

To get the surprising results, they hooked gamers to a heart rate monitor that measured resting heart rates at 10-second intervals 15 hours per week of playtime.

In a strange turn of events, it was found that Mario Kart beat out 15 fellow games with average heart rate increases. Among its competitors were Dark Souls III, Among Us, FIFA 20, Call of Duty (Modern Warfare), Fortnite, Fall Guys, The Sims, UNO!, Animal Crossing, Grand Theft Auto, DOOM, Skyrim, Street Fighter, and Minecraft.

Some parts of the results weren’t so surprising. Like sure, The Sims and Animal Crossing aren’t actually the most exciting games out there, but Mario Kart beating out DOOM and Dark Souls III? We gotta call a recount on that, chief.

Despite the upset, Bandai’s Dark Souls III did get the highest peak heart rate increases out of all the games. Meaning, despite not being consistent in giving players stress, it still had the most heart-soaring moments out of them all.

In particular, The Darkeater Midir boss fight spiked heart rates with an almost collective 127 BPM, or a 98.44% heart rate increase.
