After nearly 25 years, ‘One Piece’ officially crosses 1,000th chapter mark

A moment for life

Luffy and the gang are crossing the quarter of a century mark, as the shonen manga ‘One Piece‘ has finally reached 1,000 fricking chapters.

The major milestone was published in the manga anthology Weekly Shonen Jump earlier today, as series creator Eiichiro Oda dedicated a special page thanking fans for sticking with the Straw Hats after all these years.

‘1000 chapters!! Well, a whole lot has happened in the last 23 years. I have spent half my life [writing One Piece],’ Oda shared.

‘Luffy has taken voyages to many islands and had tons of adventures. I don’t know how many people he has met! Likewise, I have met many people and have been supported by many including my family. I can’t give enough thanks to those people.”

Oda furthered that since the manga is reportedly coming to a close soon in a few years, fans ought to stick around a little longer in finishing their story.

‘Luffy’s adventure is near its final arc. I have already drawn 1000 chapters… To One Piece fans around the world, it’s been a long story, but please support Luffy a little bit longer!’

It’s only, like, 25 years of stories
